Measuring a wobble

GoBalance is the odd one out in our catalogue and the one people keep by the desk. The deck is a proper balance board — a solid top on a roller, the kind that takes a few minutes to trust. Inside it sits the same kind of Bluetooth sensor we put in the cube, measuring tilt and weight shift many times a second and sending it to the app on your phone or television.

Standard or Sports edition

Twelve free games use that signal. You steer a ship by leaning, you dodge, you hold a position for a few seconds longer than is comfortable, and while you are busy playing, the small stabiliser muscles along your ankles, knees and core are doing the work. Progress is tracked across sessions, so the improvement is visible rather than imagined. Short sessions suit it best: five minutes between meetings beats a workout you keep postponing.

Twelve games hidden in standing still

Two boards, two jobs. The app-enabled GoBalance board is the everyday one — light, friendly, good for the whole family and happy on a rug. The Sports Edition in black has the firmer feel and the wider stance athletes ask for, and it holds up to the kind of training that happens after a run rather than during a lunch break.

Who ends up using one

Nothing here requires a subscription or a coach. Charge the sensor, open the app, pick a game and step on. The board is the controller, your balance is the input, and the only score that matters is the one that was lower last week.
